World Teacher's Day
Every day, teachers across NSW transform lives through learning. With their dedication and care, they shape young minds, build confidence and create inclusive and inspiring environments for students and communities alike. This World Teachers’ Day, Friday 31 October, we are celebrating the teachers and educators who light up our schools and communities. The ones who motivate, support and inspire others. Whether you’re a beginning teacher bringing enthusiasm and new ideas to the classroom or a principal whose leadership and dedication inspire generations, the whole department and Prairiewood High School are grateful for your invaluable contribution.
SASS Appreciation Week
We celebrated our wonderful Support Staff during SASS Appreciation Week with a delicious lunch. We thank all our SASS staff for their endless hard work and contribution to our students and school community.
Literacy and Numeracy Week
To celebrate Literacy and Numeracy Week we shared with our school community how we develop Literacy and Numeracy skills at PHS.
In Concert
The PHS Choir participated in In Concert 2025 organised by The Arts Unit. The students attended rehearsals during their breaks and after school in preparation for this concert under Miss Nguyen's leadership, learning challenging repertoire ranging from Mozart's infamous Requiem, to contemporary choral works by Australian composers Whitwell, Byrne and Walker. They had the immense privilege to perform at the Sydney Opera House among 800 singers from across 40 different secondary schools. The concert was an inspiring celebration of choral music and the musical talents of the students in public education.
Semester One Celebration Awards
We were proud to recognise positive contributions students made to the school through their efforts at our Semester One Celebration Awards. Thank you to all the parents and carers for your continued support.
