Refugee Week
Refugee Week is an annual activity that celebrates the positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society. It provides a platform where positive images of refugees can be promoted in order to create a culture of welcome throughout the country. This year, Refugee Week was held from Sunday the 19th to Saturday the 25th of June.
Our school acknowledged Refugee Week during Week 8 of this term. The Friday B Assembly focused on the theme of 'Healing' and included a video. We thank the Year 10s in the 'Student Wellbeing Group' for their work on the presentation and those featured students from the Year 11 EAL/D course and class of 9.8 within the video.
As coordinated by Mr Bashar Hanna (CLO), the assembly also included performances from students and community members. This was a great display of the rich culture amongst our refugee students, and we thank them for sharing.
