Duke of Ed

Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is an extra-curricular framework offered at Prairiewood High School to students in Year 9 or above. It is a positive and rewarding challenge of self-discovery program that equips, engages and empowers students to explore their potential. Each student who does the framework learns a skill, becomes more physically active, volunteers in their community and undertakes a team adventure​

Participation in The Duke of Ed is entirely voluntary and requires a high level of student engagement, motivation and ownership. Whilst the Award Levels are structured to assist in the development of your child’s confidence, teamwork and leadership skills, students are responsible for designing, completing and documenting their own unique program.

The required elements of The Duke of Ed Award are;

Duke of Ed challenges young people not only to complete the compulsory elements of the Framework but also challenges them to provide documentary evidence of their accomplishments.
