Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome to Prairiewood High School. As Principal and an educator with 30 years of experience, I am excited to be part of this vibrant community. Having taught at five schools before joining Prairiewood, I believe that education is about more than just lessons—it’s about inspiring students, building connections, and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
At Prairiewood, we recognise the incredible potential in every student. While education continues to evolve with new technologies and approaches, our commitment to supporting and guiding each learner remains unwavering. Our experienced staff value academic excellence and strong connections with the community.
I warmly welcome you to discover what makes Prairiewood High School a vibrant, diverse, and high-achieving school, where our students can grow, succeed, and thrive.

Our teachers make the difference
Committed to your child’s success
Our teachers ensure every student can thrive. They use proven ways to teach and tailor learning support for their students
Expert, connected and accredited
At Prairiewood High School, teachers are highly accomplished and are supported at all points of their teaching career. Connected through strategically allocated teams across the school, teachers work in cohesion to ensure their expertise continually grows. Through professional learning that supports teacher aspiration across all points of the accreditation process.
Teachers who never stop learning
Teachers at Prairiewood High School are highly proficient teachers who continually seek to develop and enhance their craft. Prioritising explicit teaching foci at the core of their teaching and learning practice, our teachers are routinely supported in strategies that will support student learning outcomes. With teachers working collaboratively in Professional Learning Communities, they design and deliver literacy and numeracy strategies that support a wide range of diverse learners. Additionally, the strong HSC focus and results in the school is a testament to the delivery of data-informed practice and quality feedback and assessment strategies.
Teacher–family partnerships
Our teachers build trust through clear communication. Our families know that their child has support and is ready to learn.
Wellbeing and support staff
Our wellbeing and support staff guide student wellbeing, learning needs and inclusion. They work with teachers to make personalised adjustments. This means each child can take part fully in school life. We make our school welcoming and accessible to every child.
